Mercedes-Benz has been building itself a strong collection and brand of vans, especially their customizable Sprinter Vans, both here in the US and internationally.
With focus on growth and new markets, Mercedes-Benz has now unveiled their new generation of cargo vans, called the Vision Van. Still considered a concept car, it is looking to be a very exciting vehicle.
With the success of both Sprinter Vans used for businesses and personal use, Mercedes-Benz looks to place themselves strongly in that market.
The Vision Van is designed as an electric vehicle with a battery good for about 168 miles. It has an electric drivetrain that prevents it from being locked out of cities that ban gas-or-diesel-powered vehicles.
The Vision Van also has two drones strapped to the roof, which will be able to deliver packages into more congested areas. LED lights will signal when the drones are taking off, or when the vehicle is stopped for a delivery.
The Vision Van is designed as a logistics center on wheels, loaded with technology focused to facilitate deliveries.
The Vision Van also features a package dispenser, special robot-operated racking systems, and a computer terminal provides relevant information for the driver.
